Jeff County was first developed
in 1988 when Jeff Sorensen,
the great explorer traveled the
country far and wide.

What am I suppose to see?

Anything between the <CENTER> tags is centered horizontally on the page. The tags are often placed on a line by themselves if more than one line is to be centered. This isn't necessary but adds to the readability of the code by the author.

NOTE: This tag is called a "Netscape Extension", and not understood by some browsers. If not understood, extra tags are ignored, and the information between is displayed normally.
