I O N! Before doing any Year 2000 (Y2K) hardware test on any PC, it is important to
take every precaution not to involve the production environment (i.e., hard disk). Do all
your testing from a bootable floppy diskette. Do not boot from the hard disk unless the
system is set to the current date. If you still have not tested your PC, please heed these
precautions. THE DATA YOU SAVE MAY BE YOUR OWN! Retrieve or create a Microsoft DOS
bootable 31/2" floppy diskette. Scan the diskette for viruses.
Copy the downloaded testing tool files to the diskette. Write protect the diskette
to prevent files or viruses from being copied to the diskette.
